Pictures of figures made of snow. We make snow figures. How to make figures from snow, what kind of snow is good to sculpt

With the onset of winter, all streets and playgrounds are covered with snow, mountains and dunes are formed in just a night, and the time for winter games comes. Snow is an endless source of fun and entertainment. Kindergarten teachers take snowfall very seriously. Snow time gives them a chance to organize interesting games with children in the fresh air, arrange a whole fairy tale next to the kindergarten. Children are very fond of this task and create amazing figures with their own hands.

The main types of figures

There are several types of snow figures at once that you can build with your own hands. According to the type of modeling, they can be divided into two types:

  • frameless - created from one snow;
  • frame - at the heart of such a figure is a frame made of wood.

Preparation for work is quite simple. Before you go outside and start creating a wonderful snow craft in kindergarten, you need to do some preparatory work still in the house.

Frameless snow figurines

Such figures are created exclusively from snow. This method is used when sculpting low figures, no larger than a person’s height, as well as a solid form without separate elements (spread wings or raised arms - this should not be).

If you want to create several figures at once, then the snow for them must be collected in advance. It is necessary to collect for several weeks, for which the snow masses are raked with a special shovel into the formwork or into another container suitable for this. You can collect such snow with the whole group, together with the children. This will help prepare for the upcoming fun. The snow that has been compacted for some time becomes more durable, so it becomes much easier to work with it.

To understand whether snow is suitable as a material for creating figures, one should press on it from above with some sharp object, if the tip easily enters the mass, then this means that the snow is not yet ready for modeling. When creating any snow crafts in the kindergarten area, you must always remember that snow is suitable for it only completely clean, without excess dirt and debris, otherwise the figure will be unattractive, and it will be very difficult to sculpt individual parts on it.

Creating single figures will help to collect snow before the work itself. To do this, as when sculpting a snowman, the snow rolls into large clods, which are then placed on top of each other. Such a game will help captivate the whole class or children from kindergarten. Supplement the constrictions, if necessary, with snow. You can collect it in this way only if it is rather sticky.

If the snow has a crumbly shape, then it can be made sticky, for this you need to pour water on it, quickly shovel it into a pile with a shovel and squeeze it well, in this case the snow mass will quickly seize under the influence of low temperatures and become more dense. Sticky snow can also be raked into the formwork.

When the block is ready for work, they begin to draw it up. For this you need to use small tool - spatula, grater or scraper. If they are not there, then you can use improvised items, you can first take a wooden spatula from the kitchen and a knife from home. If the snow is not very hard, then you can start working with children's sandbox sets, but in this case you need to do everything carefully, if the snow is too hard, then the fragile plastic may break as a result, which will only bring the child experiences and frustration.

At this stage of work, a model of a figure made at home or a painted portrait will be very useful. Sculpt details should be from it, as from a model. To begin with, a general outline of the future figure is created, and then all the main details are completed.

There is no need to be very upset if something went wrong, since snow is a material that helps to quickly restore the desired part of the figure, as well as redo an accidental defect.

Buildings with a frame

Creating a frame in snow figures from wooden sticks or plywood helps to capture them in different poses and make them more lively and interesting, which helps the child feel like in a real fairy tale.

This work will begin with the creation of the main frame. The frame in this case will serve as a skeleton, that is, the main support for the snow mass. Therefore, all the main parts must be installed precisely on the support, for example, the long neck of a swan will not withstand the load and can quickly break without a special skeleton. To do this, you need to combine all the wooden sticks and individual pieces of plywood in bunches or wire. At the same time, it is very important to give the frame stability and strength.

It is also possible to create a frame so that children use it as a structure for climbing, riding. In this case, it is important that the child does not fall during the game and is not injured.

After installing the frame, you need to fill it inside with snow, and also sculpt the base of the figure from the outside. To give strength to the frame of the figure, it should be lubricated from above with a special “snow dough”, for this the snow is half diluted with water. All parts of the figure are coated with such a mixture; after solidification, the structure becomes especially strong and strong. You also need to remember the importance of rubber gloves for such work. After all parts of the frame are disguised under the snow, and the blanks reach their size, you need to start adding different details to the structure.

At this stage, the work will be more like creating a frameless figure. The only difference will be the higher complexity of creating additional parts.

Ice craft designs

Ice figures are a separate direction in winter constructions. Transparent buildings, shimmering under the rays of the sun or in artificial lighting, look like real illuminations made of valuable glass.

It is not easy to create them, since ice is a very hard material, difficult to work with. At the same time, it is impossible to restore the breakaway section of the structure, so such work will require special skill and training.

To form such a figure, you need to use natural ice taken from a glacier or a reservoir. If you try to freeze tap water on your own, then it is unlikely to become transparent in color, and the figure will not look aesthetically pleasing. But for training, you can use this method.

Decoration of received structures

A simple sculpted figure is rather uninteresting, especially for a small child. The whole class will be happy to decorate the resulting work. They will be able to make the overall picture of the figure more vivid and attractive. With a brush, you can draw small details: mouth, nose and eyes. For coloring the building, you need to use only paints that are safe for the child, for example, watercolor. Gouache can also work, but after the snow figurine has melted, it will begin to paint heavily and can stain children.

Also, to decorate buildings, you can use colored figures that need to be prepared in advance by freezing water tinted with paint in special molds. Children can do this work on their own.

It is also good to decorate a snow structure with a cloth. To do this, you can use colored canvases or small shreds. In order for the fabric to be able to fix well on the figure, you need to use it wet, then, having frozen on the street, it will continue to retain its shape. Small patches can be attached to the structure with snow dough. You can also ask the children to bring such a fabric from home. It is good to use individual threads left after knitting, they will help attach unusual extensions to the sculpture.

Natural materials can also be used to decorate figures: hawthorn or mountain ash berries, as well as simple cones. Such decorations can also be prepared in advance.

How to make a doggy

Before starting to create, you need to accurately determine the size of the body and the location in space of the desired design, think through all the details of the appearance snow dog and in advance create a layout of a building on a piece of paper.

If you want to create a dog lying on the ground, then:

  • pile up the snow to design a lying dog;
  • moisten the collected mass from a watering can;
  • roll up a small ball and place it in the place where the planned head of the snow animal will be;
  • give the figures the features of a dog, special attention should be paid to the ears.

There are two ways to sculpt large snow structures. It:

  • from wet snow;
  • by rolling into small balls.

The second method is most suitable for sculptors who are not well versed in the modeling itself. For this you need roll two balls and process the design to give it common features with the dog.

When using the first method, before sculpting, you need to carefully process the material:

  • create a mountain of snow and moisten with water;
  • let the mass lie down for several days in the cold;
  • repeat the steps until the structure reaches the desired height;
  • remove excess snow and create dog features;
  • you can add additional colors or highlight the details of the exterior in a different way. For example, insert eyes in the form of coals.

Building a snow house

There are different types of snow houses. Of these, we can distinguish:

  • lock;
  • hut;
  • fortress;
  • needle;
  • a place for children's fun and active play;
  • decorative decoration for the site.

There are two main sculpting methods: pitched balls and cut out squares. Each of these methods uses wet snow.

To build a snow house, you need:

If the house was created for children's games, then it should be insulated inside with polyethylene. To do this, the material must be laid on the floor and attached to the walls of the building.

Snow mass minions

Making such figures from snow will be easy and fast. To do this, use a rectangle shape with rounded corners on top. Hair can be made from twigs, and hands can replace rigid plastic pipes, at the ends of which gloves can be attached. The main and interesting part of creating minions is coloring the finished structure.

One of the main winter joys is abundant, thick and dense snow. In addition to the beauty it gives to the world around it, snow provides opportunities that are incompatible with summer: snowballs, snowmen, sledding (or on the butt) from an ice slide. Not a single child passes winter without at least one snowman. Both parents and peers willingly participate in this fun. However, not entirely lazy people with a creative streak can not only entertain their child, but also decorate the yard or a nearby park with a real work of applied art. By the way, children will like this idea much more than sculpting an ordinary snowman.

Let's start simple

Before any complex snow shape is created, it is worth practicing on something simple. For example, to update or improve your knowledge and skills (regarding modeling from this natural material) on a regular hill. Only during construction, improve its design using those skills that will come in handy when the snow figures are already erected.

From the snow, if there is not a high enough snowdrift nearby, a mountain of the shape and height that you have in mind is built. If there is a lot of source material, there is inspiration and a reserve of strength, then the snowdrift can be made winding, like a descent for a bobsleigh. Just be sure to mold the sides higher so that the children do not fly off the structure! At the same time, practice working with snow. On a steeper slope, steps are cut out or trampled down, the entire workpiece is well compacted - where with a shovel, where with feet - and filled with water.

The slide will be very useful, and then, when the figure is directly created from the snow, the kids have something to do, so it will not interfere and destroy the “huts” in the process of creation, and then it will become a pity.

Preparatory stage

Naturally, you first need to decide what will be molded. To begin with, it is better to choose something simple, without small details. To help yourself, you can print a picture that shows your future snow figure. But the most important thing is to catch the moment when the modeling material is ready for work. In severe frosts, the snow is crumbly and sticks together poorly. The ideal time would be early spring or moments of thaw. However, on other days the snow can be of a suitable structure - if the temperature is not lower than minus eight and the air is sufficiently humid.

Before you make figures out of snow, you need to check its stickiness. To do this, it is enough to squeeze a handful of material in a fist. If, when unclenched, it does not crumble, but repeats the outlines of the palm, you can proceed to your exciting pastime.

Since you will have to work with a cold substance, take care of your hands. On ordinary warm gloves, you need to pull rubber ones, and preferably insulated ones. The ideal choice would be fishing - they do not crack from frost and do not let it through to the body.

Sculpture in the old fashioned way

To make intricate figures out of snow with your own hands, you will also need a bucket of heated water. Periodically, it will have to be changed - winter is still outside, and in cold water it is not enough fun to wet your hands even with protective gloves. The process itself differs little from working with the same plasticine or clay (except in scale). Only one caveat: you need to regularly stroke your sculpture with wet hands. So the snow will grab faster, and the figure will become stronger. This is especially true for small parts - without water, they are likely to quickly fall off.

First, the main outline of the conceived sculpture is molded. Very thin details are cut with a spatula on an already frozen base.

When the snow figure satisfies your artistic taste, you can gently pour chilled water over it. If there are a lot of small details, it is better to spray from a spray bottle so as not to wash away important “details”. The water will freeze and your creativity will last much longer.

Artistic carving

If the snow is dry, but you want to create immediately, we resort to another method. A box is taken (plywood is better, but made of strong cardboard is also suitable), the bottom is removed, the frame is placed on the ground and packed with snow. You can wet it with water for better adhesion. Another level is added on top - until the height of the "tower" is sufficient for the idea. Top is again carried out with wet gloves - and the base is ready. Now a knife is taken, and the carving process begins, similar to what ice statues are made.

Embodiment of global ideas

If monumental figures made of snow are conceived (the photos presented in the article will tell you the general direction in which you can work), you can’t do without a frame. The easiest way to make it is from plywood, slats or boards, just roughly outlining the desired contours. Inside and around them, the snow is compacted and watered with water until the desired figure is obtained. The same basis is needed for through architectural structures, for example, for arches.

Subsequent work is all in the same cutting: cut off everything that does not fit into the image, clean up unnecessary bulges and growths - and get snowy beauty.

Color fantasy

Please note that even if you have created a magnificent sculpture, the source material is too faded and does not make much of an impression. Wanting to achieve perfection, the authors-sculptors go to a variety of tricks. The most affordable is the freezing of colored inserts: you dilute watercolors in water, pour them into molds (even children's shallow pastes will do) - and into the freezer. Then they can be stuck all over the body of the figure, making it bright and elegant.

More complex are the technologies for painting the entire sculpture. If her body is a uniform color, gouache or watercolor can be added directly to the snow. The difficulty is to achieve a uniform color: the tone usually turns out somewhere lighter, somewhere brighter. Alternatively, you can use a spray gun with diluted paints. However, here, too, there may be trouble in the form of streaks.

Well, the artists really wait until a layer of ice hardens on the figure, then they take brushes and thick paints and paint it in accordance with the intended image.

The first snow has finally fallen and it's time to figure out how to make a snow figure (sculpture).

Snow is a free material, and in winter it is always at hand, both in the main part of Russia and in neighboring states.

Everyone in childhood sculpted snowmen or just made a slide. With age, a reverent attitude to this unpretentious and fun activity does not go away, and for children it is simply necessary. White, fluffy snow and creativity in the fresh air, what else does a person of any age need for healthy relaxation and emotional satisfaction.

A snow figure can be made in two ways. With and without frame.

If you want to sculpt something unusual, then in any way it is worth sketching a drawing (sketch) of a future creation, or even better, sculpting a model from plasticine - this will help a lot.

Talinka's work from the site "Playground Ideas"

The method without a frame is familiar to us from sculpting snowmen from sticky snow. But you can make a simple formwork from boards or plywood and compact the snow layer by layer in it, we make a snow block (it is possible without formwork - just collect, with compaction, the snow in a pile). From this block or heap, cutting off everything superfluous, we cut out any figure or the whole composition.

For decoration, you can make colored ice inserts by freezing them with water from a plastic bottle with a hole in the lid. Silicone forms (sold for cooking) or plastic (from fish and other snacks) are suitable as forms. The easiest way is to use cut bottoms from the same bottles. We tint the water with watercolors or gouache, even old, dried ones will do (everything is all right). We free the frozen ice cubes from the forms by lowering them for a few seconds, bottom down, into warm water.

The same colored water, loaded into a bottle with several minimal holes or other sprinkler, can be used to paint a finished snow work.

From the tools for such modeling, you will need different scoops and shovels (even children's ones will do). It can be made from metal corners and strips like wood carving tools, but only more.

Wireframe method- you can get a snow figure with more lively and subtle forms - outstretched arms, animal tails, bird wings, etc., and the strength is much higher than in the previous method.

The frame is the skeleton of your sculpture. They make it from bars and boards, and fasten it with nails or wire.

After making the frame, we begin modeling: Pour half a bucket of water, fill the rest with pure snow. When the snow gets wet, we coat the frame with this snow gruel, gaining the desired volume. To do this, you need warm, waterproof gloves (you can pull rubber ones over wool). If the water in the bucket is tinted, then the sculpture will be colored.

After freezing, we get a very strong, almost ice sculpture.

For refinement, we use chisels. You can try a blowtorch.

A little about ice sculptures:

Tap water is not suitable for ice sculptures, it becomes cloudy when frozen. Ice, as a rule, is mined in a clean reservoir or special, artificial ice is used. Chisels are needed more solid, and in the manufacture of large figures you can not do without a chainsaw.

So a more professional approach is needed to make ice sculptures, but if possible, try it.

And don't forget to dress warmly.

But such a breathtakingly beautiful and spectacular ice decor for a winter garden can be arranged by each of us, armed with patience and mood, as well as the desire to make a holiday on a personal plot! After all, it is quite easy!

It is necessary to take round-shaped balloons, thanks to which the decoration of the winter yard and garden will begin. The transformation will be spectacular and bright!

Balloons must be filled with water, adding food coloring to it. Each ball is a different color. Balls with water should be tied and taken out in the cold. After the water in the balls freezes, the balls can be removed, and the resulting ice multi-colored balls can be arranged randomly or in the form of an ornament in the garden and near the house. Isn't it beautiful?

Features of modeling figures of fairy-tale and cartoon characters, animals and houses from snow.

Perhaps it is difficult to find fun more interesting than sculpting figures of fairy-tale and cartoon characters from wet snow. This is both fun and develops imagination, and does not allow the child to freeze.

In addition to exciting indoor activities at home or kindergarten, adults and children enjoy spending time outdoors.

It is interesting that you can sculpt from snow almost from the first frozen precipitation. The main thing is to properly prepare the material, namely, moisten and let it harden a little.

Let's talk in more detail about the features of creating different figures, vehicles, houses and cartoon characters from snow with our own hands, as well as safe ways to color them.

  • head hair made of sticks
  • the shape of the head is similar to an elongated rhombus

In any case, find a good layout of it and keep it on hand while creating a snow sculpture.

How to make a Christmas tree with decorations from snow?

photo collage of their Christmas trees made of snow
  • First, consider the shape of the Christmas tree, its parameters and dimensions.
  • Prepare tools - a spatula, sandpaper, a small shovel, a watering can.
  • Choose the right place for the tree.

The first way is from balls:

  • roll into small diameter balls
  • arrange them in a circle in tiers
  • each next must be narrower than the previous one
  • lay snow in between to strengthen the structure
  • shape with tools
  • color the result with paints diluted in water

The second way is from a snow hill:

  • rake up a mountain of snow and trough it with water
  • after a couple of days, increase the height of the slide with snow and soak it with water too
  • repeat the steps 2-3 more times depending on the intended height

The third way is from garbage bags:

  • Fill the green bags with snow so that it rolls easily inside.
  • Lay them in tiers.

For decoration use:

  • paint
  • Christmas decorations and paper garlands
  • old plastic toys

How to make a dog out of snow?

large snow sculpture of a dog with a female author
  • Decide on the size, position of her body in space, details of the appearance of the future snow dog.
  • Stock up on a layout on paper.

If you decide to sculpt a small four-legged friend, for example, lying on the ground, then:

  • shovel snow to simulate a lying dog
  • moisten it with water from a watering can
  • roll up a small ball and place it where the head should be
  • sell her the features of a real dog, especially pay attention to the ears

For sculpting large dogs, 2 methods are suitable for you:

  • from wet snow
  • by rolling balls

The second method is suitable for sculptors with minimal skills. Roll up 2 balls and treat the snow a little to look like a dog figure.

The first method involves preparing the material before sculpting.

  • Form a mountain of snow and pour water over it.
  • Let it rest for a day or two.
  • Repeat the steps until you reach the desired height.
  • Cut off excess snow and create a figure of a dog.
  • Add her either colors, or highlight the details of her appearance in a different way. For example, insert eyes-coals.

How to make a house out of snow?

a cute house made of snow stands in the yard

Snow houses are different both in form and purpose:

  • lock
  • fortress
  • decorative ornament
  • place for children's games

There are two main ways to sculpt a snow house:

  • rolled up balls
  • cut out squares

In both cases, use wet snow.

To build a house out of snow, proceed as follows:

  • find an open place to build
  • clear it of snow
  • roll into small balls or cut out squares, for example, 40x40x10
  • lay out the first row of compacted materials, this will be the foundation
  • further increase the height of the walls to the desired level
  • remove excess snow that sticks out with your hands or sculpting tools

If the house is intended for children's games, insulate it inside with polyethylene. To do this, lay the material on the floor and along the walls.

How to make an igloo out of snow?

a decorated needle sculpted from snow, from which a baby peeks out

This type of snow building has a domed shape, and the walls are made up of cut blocks.

Choose well-packed snow or prepare it by pouring water.

The larger the blocks, the less action you will take to build the igloo. The ideal parameters of one block are 90x38x20 cm.

However, remember that the needle tapers from the bottom to the top, so the parameters of the blocks will change for you.

Of the features of the building, we note the following:

  • lay a solid foundation from the first row of blocks
  • make small bevels along the bottom edge on the inside of each brick
  • build an igloo while inside the house
  • after you lay the last brick, cut out the entrance, for example, with a knife
  • cover all joints inside with snow and grind
  • lay the bricks carefully to form a dome above you
  • build a short corridor-entrance to the cut out hole
  • if the igloo was built for children's play, be sure to insulate its floor and walls with polyethylene
  • color or add as desired

Snow Minion

several bright figures of minions from the snow

Blinding a minion figure out of snow is quite simple. Its shape is a rectangle with rounded corners on top.

Make hair out of branches, and hands out of plastic inflexible pipes. Tie gloves to the ends.

The most interesting part is coloring the finished snow blank.

snow penguin

funny penguin made of snow with your own hands

It will not be difficult to sculpt a penguin from snow, since you do not need a frame and laying material into it.

  • Fold a mountain of snow with a shovel and moisten if it is dry.
  • Using sculpting tools or by hand, give the block the desired shapes and curves.
  • Then apply paint or give it to the children. They will gladly complete this creative task.

snow stove

Russian stove made of snow, put on skis

The frame method will help you make a snow stove. Just take longer boards or boxes to make it look like a real one.

So that the finished stove can move, put blocks of snow on the skis. Then cut out its outlines.

The final step is the application of paint in the form of an ornament and imitation of fire in the hearth.

Snow tank

big tank made of snow

The larger the tank that you plan to sculpt from the snow, the more material you will need. And only with the help of pressing it into the forms and further installation on each other, you can shape the figure.

The clearer the details of the tank, the more interesting it is for children to play with it.

Snow fortress

high fortress made of snow, made by a professional sculptor

Build fortresses in any way convenient for you. However, stronger and taller ones are made of snow bricks.

Seal the joints between them with wet material.

Consult with the children before you start building a fortress. Find out the purpose of its construction and purpose. Its height, clarity of lines, the presence of sculptures in the walls and teeth on the top row of bricks depend on this.

Gingerbread man from snow

ruddy colored bun made of snow

This fabulous character can be created by any architect with his own hands, even with minimal experience in such a business.

  • Roll up a large ball and work around the perimeter to make it round.
  • Install in the place you have chosen and give the child a paint to decorate the hero of a fairy tale.

Ladybug made of snow

big snow ladybug

So I want to see a piece of summer in winter. Why not make a ladybug out of snow? Moreover, the cost of preparing wet snow is minimal.

Pour a mountain of snow and tamp. Then separate the head from the body and use black and red paints.

Snow hedgehog

cheerful hedgehog in the forest, made of snow

The hedgehog, according to the method of modeling, is similar to a kolobok. Only spines and an elongated muzzle with a nose are added.

It is quite simple to form them - from snowballs in the palms. Give them a conical shape and stick on top of the kolobok.

Add paint or charcoal for the eyes and the tip of the nose.

Smeshariki from snow

figures of Smeshariki from the snow near the house

The principle of their creation is similar to that discussed in the section above.

Thanks to the ball, which is both the body and the head, the time for sculpting any Smeshariki hero is minimal. Most of it will go to coloring.

snow snake

snow snake hanging on a tree branch

For a snow snake, take only very wet snow and lay it on the ground. To increase the strength of the material, leave the workpiece for a day.

If you want to place a snake on a tree branch, stick it around gradually in any order or from:

  • tail to head
  • head to tail

Snow octopus

colored snow octopus in the yard

Such a bright representative of the deep sea is easy to fashion with children. They will cheerfully help you rake snow for the octopus's body, and then lay out the tentacle slides.

And the most fun process is painting and laying out colored pebbles at the ends of the tentacles.

Snow frog

big snow frog in the forest

The fairy-tale heroine will remind children about the warm season and miracles. However, children cannot do without the help of adults.

Help them like this:

  • pour wet snow into the frame
  • press it in
  • shape the frog

The children will complete the last phase of creating this character on their own. After all, this is the application of paint and the addition of details, for example, arrows.

snow hare

a couple of photos with hares made of snow

Hares are inhabitants of the forest at any time of the year. If you show imagination, then you can blind a cheerful beast, for example, boldly standing by a tree.

And for the little crumbs, the usual one, molded according to the principle of a snowman, is also interesting. The main thing is that the ears are in place.

Snow Owl

beautiful snowy owl outdoors

It is quite difficult to sculpt an owl, because the sculptor should show the nuances of her body - feathers, wings, paws.

Therefore, invite professional artists or architects. so that they create such a masterpiece for children.

Snow bear

interesting figure of a bear made of snow

The principle of making a bear out of snow is similar to a dog.

However, the delight and fun games of children around the snow bear will delight you many times over.

How and with what to paint a snow figure in kindergarten?

colored snow figures near the kindergarten

Active activities with snow outdoors in kindergarten involve painting finished sculptures.

The best options for children's fun are:

  • gouache
  • food coloring

Dilute them in plenty of water and pour into containers with a spray bottle on the neck. If the figure has small details, then hand the child a brush so that he spreads the paint from the bottle around the perimeter of the desired area.

So, we examined the features of creating various figures from snow, mastered several time-tested techniques, and decided on safe means for painting finished creations.

Bring any of the considered figures to life or create your own. And remember that children will remember these amusements until their old age.

When winter finally comes into its own, falls asleep and covers all corners with snow, erects dunes and mountains in one night, the most fun time for the kids comes. Snow is an endless source of play and entertainment.

Kindergarten teachers take winter especially seriously. The snowy period makes it possible to organize excellent games with children on the street, arrange a whole fairy-tale land on the site near the kindergarten, make a whole entertainment complex only by the efforts of children and educators. Children are very enthusiastic about this task. They build amazing things with their own hands, which then become a place to play all winter long.

The easiest way to get a beautiful front lawn

Of course, you have seen the perfect lawn in the movies, on the alley, and perhaps on the neighbor's lawn. Those who have ever tried to grow a green area in their area will no doubt say that this is a huge job. The lawn requires careful planting, care, fertilization, watering. However, only inexperienced gardeners think so, professionals have long known about the innovative tool - liquid turf AquaGrazz.

  • frameless - consist only of snow;
  • frame - a wooden frame is installed at the base of the figure.

Preparing for work is easy. Before you go outside and start building a figure, you need to do some preparatory work indoors.

  1. Come up with and draw a future creation on a piece of paper, drawing all the details as much as possible: nose, eyes, beard, braid, clothes. If these are animals or animated characters, then tails, wings, beaks, etc. In the drawing class, you can ask the class to draw with their own hands pictures of the characters that they would like to mold from the snow, and offer them a specific topic for work. Or hold such a game with a garden group.
  2. You need to draw not only the shape, for example, of the tail, but also how this tail will be located in space.
  3. Then it is necessary to make small models of figures from plasticine. Such work will also captivate the whole, and not only the first, class and children will be happy to do it with their own hands.
  4. If it is planned to create a whole composition from snow, then it is necessary to recreate with the help of layouts how these figures will be located in relation to each other.
  5. When planning not only decorative elements, but also functional ones, such as a slide, a maze or a magic house that children can climb on, it is necessary to accurately calculate the dimensions of the future structure so that it is comfortable and safe.
  6. To create wireframe figures, you need to draw their schemes.

Frameless figures

Such figures are completely composed of snow. This method is used to create low snow figures, no larger than human height, having a solid shape without separate elements (raised arms, spread wings, etc.).

If it is planned to make a lot of figures, the snow for them must be collected in advance, within a few weeks, for which the snow is raked with a shovel and placed in a formwork or other container of an acceptable size. The whole class can collect such snow with their own hands, preparing for the upcoming fun. The snow that has been compacted over time becomes durable and easier to work with. To check whether the snow is suitable as a material for creating figures, you need to press on it from above with a sharp object, if the object easily enters the snow, then the snow is not ready. When making any figures from snow, it must be remembered that only clean snow is suitable for them, without dirt and debris, otherwise the figure will be ugly and it will be difficult to fashion details on it.

Creating single figures allows you to collect snow immediately before work. For this, as well as for sculpting a snowman, snow is rolled into huge snowballs, which are then stacked on top of each other. Such a game will also captivate the entire class or group of kindergarten. Supplement narrowing points, if necessary, with snow. Collecting snow in this way will only work if it is sufficiently sticky. If the snow is crumbly, you can make it sticky, pour water over it and then quickly shovel it into a pile with a shovel and compact it well, in which case the snow will quickly set in the cold and the workpiece will turn out to be dense. You can shovel into the formwork and sticky snow.

When a block sufficient for work is ready, proceed to its design. This will require a small tool. Suitable construction tools: spatula, scraper, grater. If they are not available, improvised means are quite suitable, you can first take a knife and a wooden spatula from the kitchen from home. If the snow is not very hard, you can work with a children's sandbox kit, but you need to be careful with it, if the snow is hard, brittle plastic can easily break, which will cause a huge upset to the child.

At this stage of work, a model of a figure made at home and a painted portrait will be required. You need to sculpt details from it, as from a model. First, a general outline is created, then the details are drawn.

The photo shows a figurine that still needs to be decorated.

It’s not worth being upset if something went wrong, snow is the material that makes it easy to restore and redo the resulting defect.

Wireframe figures

Creating a frame from plywood and wooden sticks helps to capture the figures in different poses and make them seem alive, allows you to embody the complex theme of any fairy tale with their help.. An example is visible in the photo.

Such work begins with the creation and installation of the frame. The frame performs the function of the skeleton of the figure, that is, the support for the snow. Therefore, all distant parts must be reflected in it, since, for example, the long neck of a swan will not withstand the load and will quickly break without a skeleton. To do this, you need to connect wooden sticks and pieces of plywood with wire or clusters. It is important to make the frame strong and stable.

It is also necessary to complete the frame for parts that can be used in children's climbing games so that the snow partitions do not collapse during the game and do not injure the child.

After installing the frame, it is filled with snow inside and molded outside. For greater strength of the frame figures, they are recommended to be smeared on top with the so-called “snow dough”, when the snow is half diluted with water and the whole figure is smeared with such a dough, after solidification the figure will acquire ice strength. Do not forget about the need for rubber gloves for this part of the work. After all parts of the skeleton are hidden with their own hands under a layer of snow, and the blank has reached the required size, it is worth starting to complete the details, as shown in the photo.

At this stage, the process is similar to working with a frameless figure, the only difference is the higher complexity of the parts being performed.

ice figures

Ice figures are a separate art. Transparent figurines, shimmering in the sun or in the rays of artificial lighting, look like an imitation of expensive stones or valuable glass (see photo).

It is quite difficult to create them, since ice is a very hard material and it is not easy to work with it. In addition, it is impossible to restore a section that has broken off incorrectly, so the work requires training and skills.

Ice to create such figures requires natural, taken from a reservoir or glacier. If you try to freeze tap water yourself, it is unlikely to turn out transparent, and the figure will not have the appropriate appearance. Although this option is also suitable for training.

figure decoration

Just a white figure made of snow is boring, especially for children. The entire first class will be happy to join the game on the design of the resulting work. They will help make the winter picture brighter. Small details should be applied with a brush: eyes, nose, mouth. Larger areas are best painted with a spray gun. For coloring, use child-safe paints, such as watercolors. Gouache can also be used, but after the figure has melted, it will be painted more and can stain the whole class in the spring.

Colored ice figures are suitable for decoration, which must be prepared in advance by freezing water tinted with paint in molds. Children can also do this with their own hands. See photos for examples of figurines.

A good way to decorate is fabric, you can use colored shreds or whole canvases. In order for the fabric to be well fixed on the figure, you need to use it wet, then, freezing in the cold, it will keep its shape. Small shreds are glued to the figure using snow dough. You can ask the class to bring such scraps from home. Useless knitting threads will also come in handy, they will allow you to make original hairstyles for the sculptures.

Natural materials are also suitable for decoration: cones, rowan and hawthorn berries. The class can also collect such decorations in advance.
